What was it like before you came in to see Nourishing Wellness?

I was so tired.  There were many times that I was so tired by mid afternoon – I had no energy or ambition to get off the couch.  I would then think about the things I should be doing & get upset with myself.

How is it now?

Changing my eating habits has made a big difference.  I have more energy.  I’m getting things done.  I’m getting out of the house more and socializing.  Most importantly – I have the ambition to make changes in my lifestyle to be happier.  Life is brighter.

I was (still am) honored when a client asked me if she could write an affidavit for the authenticity of our program. Below is what she wrote.

Hello!

You don’t know me, but if you did, you would know that I consider myself to be an authentic person who tells the truth.  One truth is – I am a skeptical person.

I have been battling stomach issues mostly due from stress and bad habits for way too many years to count.  I didn’t think my eating habits were THAT bad.  However, my concerns kept becoming more and more severe.  I fought with weight gain, crazy (and I mean crazy) night time sugar cravings, boating, continuous diarrhea (I know…TMI) and a host of other symptoms, again, too numerous to list.  Additionally, my health concerns were becoming so severe, I was unable to focus at work.  I looked (and acted) strained and even unhappy and felt negative.  At one point in the past, I was on anti-depressants, my hot flashes were out of control, I was NOT sleeping, and had absolutely NO energy. I was on a statin for approximately 10 years and my BP was starting to fluctuate.  Not a problem yet, but I was thinking it may be in the near future. My joints were achy but I still managed to walk 10,000-15,000 steps per day. I felt I was trying.  Finally I realized I needed help because no doctor was making a difference and kept suggesting medications which I preferred NOT to take.

I came to Nutritional Wellness (Sara M.) with these concerns in May, 2016.  Another big concern was finances.  I just could not overly stress myself out financially either.  I just didn’t need that added burden.  Still, Sara made a good point.  She asked me how much my wellness was worth.  After some thought, I decided to take the plunge.  Again, you do not know me, but when I decide to make a change or DO something, I put my head down and barrel through!

The first session, I was told to keep an open mind.  Yes, you need an open mind because the process seems a little hokey.  Here’s the catch!  It works!  It is sometimes unbelievable to fathom, but I noticed a small change THE NEXT DAY!  Honestly! The supplements are high quality and make all of the difference in the world.  Finally someone had the “nerve” to put me on a proper diet.  NOT foods that I wanted, or that silly pyramid told us to follow when we were little, but a program that was right.

I followed Sara’s suggestions to a “T”.  Ok…I said I would be honest so I followed ALMOST all of Sara’s suggestions!  Some just were way too out of my box.  However, I follow most of what she suggests I do.

I feel amazing!  I lost 10 pounds in 2 months. No, I did not starve or even try that hard.  I just did what was suggested to me. I no longer have hot flashes (OK – I take that one back too, I have one or two once in a great while but NOTHING like before and nowhere near as severe).  I even think my skin looks better!  I have energy.  I am happier, more positive, and DO NOT crave sugar.  I have to admit, I miss my homemade granola, but I sure do not miss how I used to feel.  I laugh that I am now so gluten free.  Who in the world would do THAT on purpose?

This is a new way of life and a new direction for me.  I highly recommend this program and I can only hope you will feel as good as I do as quickly as I did.  One thing…you are going to have to listen to their suggestions, think outside of your box, and commit.  Sara (Nutritional Wellness) never makes me feel guilty or belittles me.  It’s Ok, if I screw up once in a while.  I just get back to it.  Yet, my “screw ups” are even better choices!

I hope you try the program.  I cannot believe it will not work for you.

OH….by the way….I am off all medications!  I recently went for my yearly physical and had blood work done.  EVERYTHING is within normal range.  I told my physician what I was doing and she agreed that I should be off of all medications and to continue what I was doing.  I agree!

What was it like before you came in to see Nourishing Wellness?

I was suffering with the pain and swelling of Rheumatoid Arthritis.  I tried 4 different meds from the doctor, which made me ill.  My next step was going to be shots or infusions.  I was not willing to do that.  Sara was referred to me.

How is it now?

Since seeing Sara a year ago, I now can function and my pain and joint swelling are under control.  I do not take any meds for my RA – only Sara’s whole food supplements and eating Sara’s healthy food plan.  I cannot thank her enough.  I highly recommend Sara to anyone who wants to lead a healthy lifestyle.  She truly cares about people.

“You’re not you when you’re hungry?”

I can’t help but think of the commercials for Snickers bars when talking to various people.  You know the commercials….The Brady Bunch one….Betty White or others.  They are hilarious!  Not that I am trying to sell Snicker bars!  Oh no! What makes me think of these commercials is when the people that I talk to explain to me some of the symptoms they are experiencing; ie, fatigue, moody, irritable, crabby, tired, etc.; and not just temporarily, but continually.  All I can think of is how people are just plain hungry, but hungry for nutrition!  Not a Snickers bar, but real food…..plain and simple! Ever experience that kind of “hangry”?…..”a state of anger caused by lack of food; hunger causing a negative change in emotional state”. We are starving ourselves of nutrition and don’t even realize it.  Maybe we need to just reach out for some real food, real fuel for the long run!

I invite you to ask yourself, what stories are you telling yourself about your hunger?  How many times are you going to continue to tell yourself these stories?  And finally, what is holding you back from finally feeding that hunger and feeling like yourself again?

We Are Not All Perfect!!

I just wanted to share with you that I was reminded, once again, that I am not superwoman, whaatt??  So, as many of you may know, my mom passed away in February.  I can’t even remember the last time that I was sick!  It just goes to show me how off my game I was and the results from that.  How am I coaching clients with wellness when I am not even well myself?!?  That definitely got my attention besides the fact that I didn’t like how I was feeling!

Without going into all of the details of how it all happened, my mom was living with me in my home.  I had been sleeping on the couch during the last week of my mom’s life so that I was near when needed.  I didn’t sleep very well as you can imagine.  It took me a few more days before I settled back into my room and bed after she passed.  I was exhausted, but during the time, I didn’t even think of how I felt as I was in automatic drive.  I was up at all times of the night.  And my eating, well, it was not my usual that is for sure.  Grabbing things here and there, eating and not eating, and whatever was available to eat, forgetting my supplements at times. The results; no voice and an ear that I couldn’t hear out of and a little weight gain for a few!

So, I heard those messages that my body was saying to me and I have listened.  I am getting back on my game!  It seems that it was so easy getting off my game but much harder getting back on it, you may relate.

I am here to share with you that I am just as fallible as everyone else, especially the clients of Nourishing Wellness.  With that, we get back on our horse, despite falling off and suffering the consequences any longer.  No hand slapping or told-you-so’s.  We do the best we can at any given circumstance.  I am here for you; to support you through your ups and down’s of life, to help you get back on track.  No one is perfect; I will be the first to admit that.  Let me, help you get on track to a better you despite what life is dealing you today.  There is never a better time.

The “balanced blonde” stronger on following her passion and “wealth”

I am 27 years old (as I didn’t know if I was 26 or 27 years old, I can hear my coach Michelle laughing as she said “us spiritual people don’t know how old we are, we don’t believe in getting old based off of age”) anyways, I want to share with you my story about me and where I once was and where it has lead me on this amazing, roller coaster journey that I thought I would never tell anyone as I was too scared, afraid, or heck even fear of being judged. But in the end, I hope to inspire and help others because feeling good feels fricken amazing!

Throughout high school, I was a normal high school kid. Played sports, had friends, but had a hard time concentrating in school. I even would break out in cold sores from what the doctor thought was stress and had to be put on Valtrex for my horrible outbreaks. Not only was it ugly and embarrassing but I didn’t understand why I got them. I didn’t think I was that stressed. After high school, my cold sores continued and I began to then get GI issues. I would throw up if I ate the “wrong food” which I never knew what would trigger it. I would have a few episodes each month of horrible pain in my stomach that radiated between my shoulder blades as well as my entire abdomen. I would even feel like I was 9 months pregnant, even though I wasn’t.  My periods were normal, I had cramps and was very moody. I had to have my greasy burger or chocolate fix, but that’s what we all go through, right? I thought this was all normal till it went on too long. I wasn’t even the legal drinking age yet and I was having all these issues…was this really “normal” and “ok.”  Is this what are bodies were made for and made to go through this?

Of course knowing what I know now, it’s not normal but neither is the way traditional medicine handled this. It wasn’t till I did a series of trial and error to not only find out what doesn’t work but most importantly what does work. Throughout the next couple of weeks, I will lead you through my personal journey. I hope to inspire as well as educate others with what I have learned personally. I invite you to pass this on to others you know that may be experiencing similar things I went through or to those and yourself who want and need great health results.

What Is Contributing To Our Toxic Load

Here is a fabulous article by Dr. Mercola about all the other things that is taxing our toxic load.  Nourishing Wellness talks about this with their clients.  After food, there are so many other elements that we need to look at.  We seem to forget about all the chemicals that we may be putting on our bodies, or all the EMF’s that are around us.  By reducing our toxic load in any way will be hugely beneficial to our wellbeing starting Day 1.
